"Bank of India has chosen not to participate in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Customers of Bank of India with noninterest-bearing transactions accounts will continue to be insured through December 31,2009 for up to $250,000 under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation has announced changes in FDIC Deposit Insurance Coverage on May 20, 2009.
Accordingly,
(i) Certificate of Deposits is now insured up to at least $250,000 per depositor through December 31, 2013. On January 1, 2014, the standard insurance amount will return to $100,000 per depositor,
(ii) Balances in checking accounts will continue to be insured up to $250,000 per depositor
through December 31, 2009.”
